Is it possible to pay with Euro in Hungary?

Although the official currency is the Forint, it is possible to pay with Euro, but usually just in the major shops and shopping centres. Private shops are usually not accepting Euro notes. Please check the actual currency rate with the cashier, because there can be major differences compared to the official currency rate at a bank or exchange office!
